Every community has a plethora of untold stories. They are stories of individuals and families living on the margins. They are stories of struggle and chance and bad luck and tough choices, but they are also the stories of hope and partnership and risk and strength. They are stories from which we all have something to learn. That's why we're setting out to tell these stories and to ignite a conversation with our community about action and opportunity. The Sonder Collection is a multi-media project leveraging individual stories to start a conversation about stigma, stereotype, equity and disparity in communities around the globe. Working in partnership with local organizations we will collaborate with stigmatized populations to capture their words, photograph their faces, and humanize their stories.
Our studio is working in partnership with nonprofit organizations to launch Invisible:Boulder the very first in our Project Invisible series. Our partners are helping us take an intimate look at some of the community's most marginalized populations.
By capturing individual stories through stunning portraiture and powerful testimonial we will challenge stereotypes and address misconceptions about the most marginalized populations in Boulder, Colorado.
The project will culminate with a community-wide dissemination effort. Combining mediums and channels, we will work with our partners to identify the most effective presentation of content throughout the greater Boulder community.
From community sponsors to nonprofit partners, we want this to be a local collaboration from the start! Spread the word, send us your ideas, help make connections, and invest in this project to start a fresh conversation in your community.
