THE LAST CLEAN SCAN STORY
PREMIERES EARLY 2018 | SUPER 35 CINEMA 4K
Educational and emotionally compelling, this documentary will explore the all too common experience of PTSD in cancer survivors and in doing so create a space for honest conversation. Unlike past films which take a clinical approach, The Last Clean Scan will not follow an individual patient or treatment protocol. It will instead look at the mental and emotional toll that physical survival takes. Celebrating the elimination of cancer, we will speak with survivors about their life after the illness, the resources available, but also the unfathomable burden - physical and mental - that they are left to endure. More specifically, we will capture the stories of survivors who are living with post traumatic stress, how they cope, and where they turn for support. Shining a light on life with PTSD after cancer - how it impacts relationships, daily activities, self confidence, and emotional stability - we will open the door for conversation, as well as alert our audience to an all too common risk that most are unaware of.
After making an emotional connection and building awareness, the film will ultimately celebrate the many ways in which individuals are moving from surviving to thriving. From innovative wilderness experiences to cutting edge research, The Last Clean Scan will use personal narrative to piece together a map of resources available to cancer survivors. In doing so we will make an appeal for those areas of physical, emotional, and mental well-being which still remain unsupported for survivors.
